Following on from the success of 'A Nostalgic tour by Tram, Trolleybus and Bus: Walsall and District', the second in this series takes the reader on the first of two nostalgic tours of Wolverhampton and District, using the history of the public-transport system as a basis for discovery.
The changing face of Wolverhampton and District is captured in the second volume of this series. The authors take us on a nostalgic tour of the western routes, travelling through locations such as Bushbury, Fordhouses, Beckbury, Brewood, Cannock, Tettenhall Road, Merry Hill, Finchfield, Whitmore Reans, Jeffcock Road and more views of the Town Centre. The vast quantity of black and white photographs not only allow us to reflect on the transport networks of bygone years, but also to reminisce at buildings, cars, fashions and trends as they once were. In depth and insightful captioning accompanies the carefully chosen photographs, making this a book that will appeal to the transport enthusiast, local historian and Wolverhampton and District resident alike.
This volume covers roughly half of the area covered by the extensive Wolverhampton system.
