On 29 October 1891, Leeds became the first city in the United Kingdom to operate electric trams on the overhead wire system. These became a familiar part of city life until they finally passed into history on a cold, foggy night in November 1959. In this volume Graham Twidale recalls affectionately the last nine years of tramway operation in Leeds. A time when the familiar red and cream trams (blue and cream up to the early 1950s) meandered frequently around the city.
