In this sequel to his earlier volume Thanks for the Memory – and maintaining the song lyric theme in the title! – acclaimed railway photographer Mike Esau has chosen a further selection of some 200 sumptuous black and white images from his extensive collection, together with a dozen or so colour images, to present the reader with another achingly vivid evocation of the steam age on BR.
Technically superb and beautifully composed, the photographs once again reveal the many moods of the steam locomotive in its working environment and cover many far-flung locations around the country. Once again, the majority have never been published before – indeed, there are some that Mike himself has never before printed!
From the classic three-quarter view to many more artistic and atmospheric shots of the steam railway in the landscape, here is another mouth-watering selection of images to savour again and again.
